The Brief: Re-Centring a Fireplace & Switching to Solid Fuel
The property featured a through-lounge with an off-centre gas fireplace and an external chimney, which disrupted the balance of the room. Our customer wanted to:
Create symmetry by centring the fireplace
Replace gas with a wood burning stove
Achieve a timeless, Pinterest-inspired look that worked with her new interior choices
Like many homeowners, she had saved plenty of inspiration online — but needed expert guidance to make sure it would actually work in her space.

Fireplace Design Service: Why a Showroom Makes All the Difference
Rather than guessing or buying online, we invited the customer into our showroom where we:
Sat down together to design a complete fireplace moodboard
Discussed her woodburner options, and settled on the Futara 5 from Stovax which we have on display in our stove-room.
Matched her Farrow & Ball paint colour to her accessories
Selected the Norstar Black tiled hearth
Chose a complementary Riven Slate Chamber
Finalised a Mid Oak Beam in geocast which is non-combustible.
This collaborative approach ensures every fireplace installation is not only beautiful, but practical, compliant, and tailored to the property.

The Solution: A Faux Chimney Breast for Perfect Symmetry
After carrying out a full site survey, our team determined the best solution was to:
Build a bespoke faux chimney breast
Create symmetry within the through-lounge
Incorporate a built-in TV recess
To connect the stove safely and efficiently, we used a combination of:
Twin-wall flue system
Stainless steel flexible liner
This allowed us to work with the existing external chimney while delivering a clean, modern solid-fuel installation.

Organised 3rd party scaffolding
Booking of our 3rd party recommended electrician & plasterer
Co-ordinated the delivery of our bulk bag of kiln-dried logs, kindling & flamers ready for the client to enjoy upon completed installation
